Thank you for reporting this issue, and our apologies for any frustration this is causing.
When you attempt to import an .mxf and After Effects closes, does the Crash Reporter dialog show up? If so, have you submitted a report with your email? These are very helpful to us when diagnosing crashing issues.
Additionally, would you be able to send us a sample .mxf file so we can check if the metadata is some how incompatible with After Effects? If the footage is sensitive, please feel free to message me privately with a link.
Thanks again for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,
It suddenly worked when I put it in a folder on my desktop.
I'm working with files in Google Disk (with offline access). If I have the footage stored in a Google Disk folder, and import the footage into After Effects, it crashes without any Crash Reporter. AE just dissapears. This didn't happen before the release of AE 23.2. Maybe it's something with how it reads the file path? I'm sending an MXF file over message.
My team has also been affected by this. .mxf files on Google drive crash After Effects 23.3.0 (Build 53), but not when they are local. I am able to open the projects after I rolled back to version 23.1.0 (Build 83)
Same issue here, both in After Effects (23.3.0 build 53) and Premiere Pro (23.2.0 build 69). Both crash almost instantly when adding MXF files from a google drive, locally synced location.
Everything works fine when loading or relinking the footage from a local driver or a NAS drive.
Our whole backup system revolves around Google Drive, this needs to be fixed!
