Internal Error accessing autoLeading parameter on Text layer

Community Beginner ,
Oct 28, 2024 Oct 28, 2024

Expressions are disabled when using

text.sourceText.style.autoLeading

They return "Error: internal error"

This was tested in both Position and Source Text properties.

OS: macOS Sonoma 14.7
After Effects: Version 25.0.1 (Build 2)

I've tried this on Source Text and it returns true. I tried it on Position but that would never work as it requires 2 values being returned.

So I'm guessing I'm not understanding how you're using the autoLeading expression.

Can you share a project with us that reproduces this?

I've solved the issue. After trying to recreate it in a new project, I determined that the expression itself was not the issue and that the conversion to the latest version of AE had caused it. Removing and re-adding the expression resolved the error. This may be worth noting if others have the same issue.
