I'm used to dragging in PSD files into After Effects and telling it to import as a composition, and then it gives me all the psd layers broken out. It's great. But I took a PSD into After Effects 2025 today and all it did was bring in the psd as one file without layers, despite me saying import as composition. I can see all the layers broken out within photoshop so why arent those layers translating to After Effects like it normally does? is it because the layers are in an art board? the last time I had a file with multiple art boards in one psd, i deleted all the artboards except for one and then brought it into AE without issue months ago, which is what I did today: made sure the PSD only had one art board. but that didnt solve my issue. After Effects version 25.1.0 (build 68). Mac os sequoia 15.1.1, apple m2 ultra, 128gb ram,
update: i think i figured out the issue. its because the artboard was cmyk. the minute i made it rgb, i could now bring in the PSD to After Effects as a composition with all its respective layers
