I wasn't sure where to post this as this is just happening generally across most Adobe software, it's particularly bad in After Effects though. Every time I go to name a file it won't let me, it keeps highlighting a word and kind of greying it out (not sure how else to explain this), to the point where I can't click in the search bar to rename the file at all. It feels like there's a lot of bugs with Adobe right now along with the dynamic linking also not working. These things are really slowing down my work process, making me late for deadlines and making me reconsider paying so much for this software. I appreciate that many have told me the dynamic linking bug is being sorted out but it's been going on for such a long time now and the work arounds become so complex.

Could you please supply AE version and system details as well as a screen capture of the problem?

Really difficult for us to understand what the issue is (in any fashion) without these basic details.

Hi Paul.

My After Effects version is 24.3 and I'm working on an Apple M3 Max 16-inch Nov 2023, 48GB on Sonoma 14.1

Below is an example of what's going on. Where "Untitled Project" is highlighted in grey I can't click anywhere as I normally would to try and get rid of "Untitled Project". I've tried to see if this is just a general Mac issue but can't find a solution, and it does seem to only be happening in Adobe, specifically After Effects.

Are you running any utilities or system extensions designed to improve cursor visibility or display keystrokes on the screen as you type them? Examples might include KeyCastr, KeyMou, and PopClip (I'm sure there are many more).

I seen numerous reports from Mac users on various forums that these can interfere with selection in Mac OS dialogs like the one shown in your screen shot.
