Search for "missing" in the project search bar comes up with no results after alerted missing files

My AE project has missing files, but when I search for "missing" in the project panel, nothing comes up.

This issue has been ongoing for a couple of weeks now. Maybe related to latest update.

After Effects Version 25.2.2. (Build 2)

macOS  14.7.5 (23H527)

Troubleshooting attempts: reset preferences, reset AE, reset device. Issue remains.

Hey @lizs10642229,

I just imported a file, renamed it on disk, saw it go offline in AE, searched for "missing" and it showed up as expected. I also tried this in 25.2.2 and the latest public beta of 25.4. Is your AE or macOS in a language other than English?

Thanks,

No, both AE and macOS are in English. But that would have been a great catch if not lol

Hmm, yeah it was the first thing that came to mind. Can you try in the public beta?

Also, what happens if you create a new test project and do what I did? Import a single file, rename it on disk, go back to AE, then search for "Missing." Any changes?

I created a new blank test project and renamed/etc, but issue remains the same. But I did download the AE Beta and made a blank test project there - in Beta, search works just as expected.

ty for helping me out on this!

Update: I just realized that while just searching "missing" on its own doesn't work like it used to, if I search missing and then select the "Missing Footage" option from the drop-down, then that does locate the missing footage. So the bug hasn't budged, but I have a good work-around for anyone else who experiences this.
