Time Line Indicator not moving whenb Previewing

Trying to align animation to audio, I hit play and NOTHING moves. Audio plays and video plays but I need to guess where on the wave form it coudl be at to cut my animation to. I do not even get the red cached timeline indicator.

There are NO updates as I am fully updated. I use Mister Horse plugin.

AMD 5900X

64GB RAM

3TB NVMe RAM

Nvidia 4080 Super

Nothing heavy going on and no Mister Horse plugin being used but it is installed.

Thanks for sharing the details. Is it happening in all the projects? Can you test on a new project? Try clearing media cache (Edit > Purge > All Media and Disk Cache). If that doesn't help, try running After Effects in Safe Mode.
