How bad is this software ?
RTX 5090, Ryzen 9950x, 128g of RAM and your software goes to flame when showing a waveform.
Mp3 or aiff, doesn't matter. 15 years I'm in motion design and it still happening.
Is there a way to fix it or do we have to wait for your team to finally splash the cash on developers and remade this software from scratch ?

Hi raphaelb34337666,
Could you share more details on what's happening? Are there any error messages or crash reports? Does it crash with a specific audio file or all of them? I haven't seen this issue recently, but I'd love to investigate. If you could, please share a screen recording of the issue.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Nishu

Preview is freezing. I can scrub through the timeline but nothing refresh. Caps lock on and off, same thing, just frozen.
I have to cut the audio layers, wait for the preview to become active again, and paste the audio layers again.

Thanks for the details, Raphael. Let's see how we can help.
If you go to Edit>Purge>All Memory & Disk Cache, this will clear your media cache stores. After Effects will re-generate the audio waveforms for your project, and that'll take a minute, but once it's re-generated it should work a little better.
If that doesn't do anything, let's check to see if it's related to GPU acceleration. This is just a test to help us determine the issue. Your specs sound like you're on a PC. On Windows, the process is to go to Edit>Preferences>Display and disable "Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer, and Footage panel."
Let us know if either of these steps improves performance.
