I've been using after effects for a few years through school or work and when to the render queue and export in the format I always used QuickTime then in the format options I always had a slew of options from different H.264, png, gif etc. I recently downloaded AE on my own laptop and I have none of those. How do I get them? Do I have to go through an external source? If so where?
I originally wanted a QuickTime video with a transparent background and I was told to use PNG in the format options. I don't have that. I can't use a PNG sequence because the program I'm using this video in, doesn't support that as a video. I can only use a video or a picture, not an image sequence.

CC 2018 removed these codecs. You can use the alternatives:
1. For H.264 use Adobe Media Encoder or a 3rd party plugin called AfterCodecs
2. For Transapency in a Container format you can use: QT Cineform GoPro, QT Animation, and in AME you also have others like Jpeg2000 mxf. If you are on Mac you also have ProRes.

....you can forego the bug-riddled train wreck known as AE CC 2018, install nicely-functioning AE CC 2017 instead, have all your Quicktime codecs at your disposal and get on with business.
