For me...AE handling of audio has hit a new low. As shown in the image beloew I am getting drop outs in audio files. 1st, AE has become painfully slow in importing audiom sometimes it hangs for 10 or 15 seconds. Also when I render in ME...about 30% of the time I get these random audio drops. AT first I would re-render (hoping to avoid the occasional failure of ME which also happens way too often) but the issue would persist. Upon loading the AE projects I'd find the audio drop out was IN the project when it hadn;t been when I'd last quit. Reloading the "footage" and the drop was still there (but not present if I opened the audio file in a program that actually plays real time audio). Sometimes actually reimporting (rather than replacing) the footage fixes it, sometimes not. Sometimes restarting my PC fixes it, sometimes not. Sometimes I fix it (in AE) but upon saving i get new dropouts and when I reopen the project the audio has been corrupted in the project again. This has been going on for awhile but I've hesitant to leave a long post explaining the issue as Adobes untable products have cut so far into my productivity that I bristle at the thought of wasting another 15 minutes of time. In this case though, I happened upon a situation while trouble shooting where i got two audio files next to each other showing the audio drop. The aiff was slowing AE to a crawl so i decided to try and convert it to both WAV and MP3 via AE renderer.. Both renders resulted in drops in identical spots. Just thought I'd let you know. Maybe it's a system issue but I'm not having audio issues anywhere else on my system. And as for my workflow...it has not really changed for the last 10 years. It's Adobe that keeps changing (and breaking).
