Hello! I have used AE a few times. It's obviously a more powerful and advanced editing software than Movavi which is geared towards more beginner and user-friendly editors.
But what I have noticed is that when I want to add minimal titles in my videos (lower thirds, those kinds), Movavi has some built-in and I can apply it instantly to my video and there's hardly no waiting time to render or preview. It just instantly works. I can type in whatever I want in the text and instantly I get my minimal titles/lower thirds appear in my preview and even when I render the entire video (3+ minutes) it's fast.
I used to use different minimal titles in AE (motion factory) but I'd have to render it out and then move it into Sony Vegas and add it as a overlay ontop of my video project. The problem is this process takes much longer. It takes AE anywhere from 1 minute to 3 minutes just to render out a simple title for me. Then I have to throw it into Sony Vegas and use the premultiplied dirty option so that it becomes transparent background and appears as an overlay on my video. The process is just so long and time consuming just to check if I like the title or not. I may need to reword the title or try different styles dozens of times but why is the process so long in AE whereas in Movavi I can just choose the title effect I want, type in anything I want, and instantly get a preview?
Am I doing something wrong or is AE just such a big and heavy program that everything takes much longer to render there? My computer is no slouch either, i7-7700 4.2ghz with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070

Nothing wrong your computer or process, just AE being that old arthritic lady it is. It's simply built on outdated paradigms and principles, equally outdated code structures and on top of it Adobe seems unable to fix the gazillion bugs properly. Of course any reasonably contemporary program can beat it at some simple tasks, even one slapped together from some freely available code libraries like Movavi... Really not much more to say than that. AE is realyl at a point where it needs to be replaced with a completely new app designed from scratch, but that likely will never happen.
