After effect classic 3d generating unexpected exception

New Here ,
May 03, 2025 May 03, 2025

Hello,

I was working on a project, then last time I tried to open it I had this message that Classic 3d plug-in was generarting an unexpected excetpion and AE won't open the file anymore

I emptied the cache, unistalled and reinstalled AE resetting preferences and have loads of space on my mac but nothing seems to sort this out.

I also tried to drag the project into a new sequence but that doesn't really sort the issue out.

Can anyone please help, I was almost at the end of a massive project and really don't want to redo it from scratch.

massive thanks

Sorry to hear about the issue.

Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode and see if that helps? If it doesn't, please share the project file with me to test on my end. Feel free to share the file via DM if you do not want to share publicly.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
Nishu

Hi Nishu,
thanks a lot for your suggestion:
it seems to be working, I still have some issue coming up when opening the project (see enclosed screenshot), but at least the projects open and runs ok.
I believe what I am having now is an issue of unlinked file, although not sure about the bad header message.
Do you know what this could be?
thanks a lot for your precious help

Kind Regards
M

Thanks for getting back. Do you mind sharing the screenshot again? I can't see it.

Thanks,

Have you updated your graphic card driver?
