It happems to me very often, that I start rendering a video in After Effects and the video just stops rendering, but it renders fine in Adobe Media Encoder.
I tried different settings, I tried GPU and software rendering, it still just stops after some time (at different places). After Effects GUI stays responsive, I can click menus (although they are greyed out), but I can't close After Effects. Also clicking the "Stop" rendering button does nothing. I have to kill AE from the taskbar. I don't use any plugins for my videos, except for the built-in ones, like Curves, Transform, Brightness+Contrast.
How can I solve it?
I use Windows 10, I have 40GB RAM.

Start by actually logging your renders with the "Plus per frame info" option to see what exactly happens when the renders stop. Similarly, just observing task manager/ resource monitor can tell a lot. Chances are that this is some external process accessing some of your render files or your disks kinda getting full.
