Hello,
Using After Effects 2020 for some reason the keyboard shortcuts for "I" (go to layer in point) and "O" (go to out) don't work. I've tried manually setting it in the shortcut config, i've tried resetting the preferences and it still doesn't work. Is it a known bug or am i forgetting something or not doing something right?
Thank you

Hi
I’ve moved this from “Get Started” to the “After Effects Forum” where you are more likely to get a proper response.

Others have reported here of a similiar issue. File a Bug Report and hopefully this will get fixed in the next update.

You have to manually edit the keyboard shortcuts file.
Its name you can find in Edit->Keyboard Shortucts.
Find this file in explorer (on windows it is located in C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\17.0\aeks).
Add in ["CCompTime"] section the following lines
"TimeJumpToIn" = "(I)"
"TimeJumpToOut" = "(O)"

Thank you so so much!!!It was driving me crazy
From AE > Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts the default was:
I: "Go to Layer In Point"
O: "Go to Layer Out Point"
They look fine to me, but didn't work.
That's perfect with your fix.

Hello,
I have the same problem but for the "[" which sets layer In point at current time. Do you have any idea how to fix it. It's driving me crazy.
Thanks in advance

Check if you have the following lines in ["CCompTime"] section
"TimeSetIn" = "([)"
"TimeSetOut" = "(])"
Or you may have duplicate definition for "[" shortcut?

Thank you,
I actually figured this out after a lot of digging in the forum. I had to go into a Text file in the preferences and find the shortcut for I and O.
Now it works!

When you're in the Keyboard Shortcuts Visualizer UI, click on a key on the visualizer and the bottom right of the UI will display the all shortcut key combinations involving the key you clicked on. The Command (shortcut name) is also displayed next to each shortcut. See the image below as a visual guide – the F9 key was clicked/selected, to display all shortcut key combinations related to the F9 key.
