Hi, I got a new pc lately and after installing after effects 2021 it noticed it lags as hell!

I thought it's from 2021 and updated after effects to 2022 latest version but there's no differences!

I have a decent pc with following specs:

EVGA RTX 3090ti OC

Intel i9 12th gen 12900K

64GB DDR5 Ram

and 2TB NVME which after effects and footages are on.

Here's a video of lag :

I even reinstalled windows 11 and updated all the drivers to latest.

Also noticed after effects only uses ~10% of my cpu and ~20% of my GPU.

I'd try resetting preferences:

press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) while starting After Effects to restore default preferences settings

Also go to Edit/Purge All Memory and Disk Cache.

Hope that it helps.

Thank you but it didn't fix it.

Nothing wrong here. AE uses very limited GPU acceleration and many of it's processsing is not very parallelized or multithreaded. This has never been any different. The rest simply looks like issues with aformentioned hardware acceleration and thus the only advice can be to spend some time straightening out your graphics driver and the relevant settings, check the cache settings, turn off multiframe rendering and all that. No magic buttons or easy answers here.
