after effects 2022 maxing out memory and cpu usage

after effects 2022 maxing out memory and my cpu usage peaked at 96% only whilst caching a project file thats pretty much empty. i tried after effects 2020 and the memory spiked there aswell. ive had after effects for over 2 years and this has never happened to me before.

How much is the memory consumed at After Effects startup? Is it the maxium at the beginning? If not, I would guess the issue is related to the footage loaded.

its at around 600-1000 when started. then instantly when i start playing the footage it goes up to 10-11k and it doesnt go down until after effects is close
