After Effects 23.6 crashing while switching between comps

After Effects updated to 23.6. Since then, anything being done in certain compositions makes the program crash after getting back to another composition. Running it in a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 64GB RAM.

Do you see any error messages or crash reports? Please share some details about the project. What type of media and effects are you using in it? Does it happen with all the projects or this particular one?

Happened with two different projects.

Project 1: Mix of 3D rendering setups between Classic 3D and C4D Rendering. All 3D objects were generated with extrusion within the project. That comp would be then nested into a Classic 3D Rendering without using 3D there in order to be able to apply Layer Styles.
Project 2: Just a regular mix of footage, shape layers and textures.

Both projects, other than having keyframe speed applied didn't have any effect applied, other than Hue/Saturation and or curves.

Thanks for the details. Can you try running After Effects Safe Mode and see if that brings any change?

Nishu, the only fix was to deinstall that version and go back to the
previous one. Tried Safe mode, Tried reinstalling After Effects without any
third party plugins, extensions or scripts, and nothing worked.

BTW Adobe should have gotten my reports.

I'm having the same issue on Win10, same AE version. It happens when you go to a parent comp via the buttons in the composition window or using the mini-flowchart. It also happens when I try to replace a comp, using alt+drag in the timeline. It doesnt happen all the time, it seems very random, so I cant replicate it. 
Im going back to 23.5

Sorry to hear that. Are there any error messages or crash reports? Next time when it crashes, please provide your email id to the crash reporter and submit it so that we can try to find the crash reports at out end.

I've been having this issue too and it's infuriatingly crippling at times. It seems to happen when I switch back to a comp which is using a camera from the previous scene I was in. I'm literally having to save after every action. I sent a crash log to Adobe via twitter but they couldn't see anything wrong. It's been happening for AGES now. Definitely since the last update.
