So I bought a new macbook pro 14 inch with the m4 pro 14 cores and 48 gb of Ram and I thought I will be a major change from my previous M1 macbook but unfortunately almost every time I use After effects it will just freeze and will not recover. At times it will freeze the whole mac and I cant even force it to close because the Mac will not do anything. Only way it to reboot it manualy. This is a major problem that never happened to me with the M1 Macbook.
This is a brand new Computer with 2 TB hard drive and it completely clean. I had it for 3 days and since day one this keeps on happening.
I usually happen when I try to play something on the time line after working on it for a while, but nothing to havey. Again, the M1 got no issues with it.
Is that something other people experience?
thanks

Wow, really sorry to hear you've had a rough few days with your new computer! Let's see how we can help. My first thought is that it could be some type of permissions error, like After Effects thinks it isn't allowed to run on your new Mac.
This is just a test to let us know if the issue is related to permissions! Use the toolbar at the top of your screen to go to >System Settings>Privacy & Security>Full Disk Access
Flip the switch next to "Creative Cloud." Launch After Effects. Let us know if the behavior improves!
If the freeze still happens after granting Full Disk Access, could you please tell us what part of the process the Mac freezes? Is it when you add footage, or while you're editing?
Happy to help,
Caroline

Would you use the command line of "sudo open"? The permission is fully opened.

is it suppoed to be there by deafult after intalling creative cloud?
Becasue the only option I can see there is to grant full access to Rekordbox (pionner)
Anyways, I will add it manually and grant it full access and will update as to weather it did the trick or not.
Thank you for this answer

Hi omers95869582,
Did you try adding Creative Cloud and providing Full disk access? Did it help?
Thanks,
