After Effects became unusable!

New Here ,
Nov 18, 2021 Nov 18, 2021

Dear Adobe Team,

For a long time now After Effects became unusable for me. And I'm speaking specifically about the Versions 2021 and 2022, the older versions I have no clue. I'm getting several Error Messages, when I'm composing, previewing is nearly impossible, not to think about rendering. See attached just some of them. I tried already everything, changing the media cache file sizes, the storage folder, always cleaning my datacache etc., updating my nvidia driver, so please don't answer me with "what hardware are you using?" or "try changing the Media cache Preferences". I'm really looking for a solution here and it's definetly not an hardware issue or Preference settings issue, but seriously an After Effects Issue. Also After effects causes that two of my three Monitors are turning black, other programs are crashing, weird graphic errors etc, etc....

My Workflow is including EXR Image sequences with ACES Color Managment.

Im working at a Motion Design Studio where AE is one of the essential Tools, so I'm really in trouble here, because I have deadlines and it's always a pain in the A** to preview or render something. I found out that blending modes causes errors more often, but it is generally very random when an "out of memory" or an other error message appears. Adobe, please do something about it!!!

Unfortunately this is a user-to-user forum and Adobe staff is hardly around.

You can track the exact circumstances leading to those isses and open a bug report for each one of them in the user-voice forum. https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911311-after-effects

I did always stick to older versions which have proven to work, never update during a project and upgrade only after a few months after release and after the first hot fixes. Adobe is not testing their software properly before shipping. It might be cheaper to gain some angry users and release a fix.

If you have a version still installed which did work, do your daily business with this version. If you have to stick with 21/22 now, consider a clean install of the whole system just to eleminate all other possbile error sources and make the enviroment as perfect as possible for AE/Adobe.
