After Effects - common location for all plugins and scripts in multi user env

Hello,

Is there a good way to have all users share preferences, scripts, and plugins?

All other software ( Maya, Nuke, Houdini) that we use has an easy way for the TD to deploy common settings which are kept on one network location. Does After Effects have something like this?

It is very useful when you have 1 TD servicing multiple non-technical artists.

Thank you,

Chris

I made a lightweight app for this at my studio basically using rsync that soft syncs network folders with your local folders.

For my personal plugins/scripts/presets, I like using Google Drive with Symlinks, Zack Lovatt has a great article on it here.

You can just use hard links to a shared folder. AE even supports soft links for many cases (i.e. plugins), making it even easier.

I think this is what I'm looking for. I need an alternative location to have plugins and effects in, but I can't find any information about it. Can you explain how I would go about setting that up? Thanks!
