Computer has been running all adobe apps no problems for 6 months. Windows 11, all apps are up to date.

No changes were made but now every time I try and save my work after effects crashes.

If I run as an administrator I can save my work but I can not drag and drop a file from windows explorer into the porject panel (not allowed).

Also happening in Photoshop, what is going on and how can I fix it?

Have you tried resetting After Effects preferences? How about trying the previous version of After Effects to see if it crashes?

It could be user account permission issue. Can you change the permissions as instructed in the following article: https://adobe.ly/3SyMwMZ

If that doesn't help, create a new admin account and test After Effects in it.

Let us know.

Thanks,
Nishu

Yes I tried that and it did not fix anything.

I have also removed all creative cloud apps using the installer and the clean up tool.
Removed all adobe folders from all the locations in windows including temp folders

Fresh install and still having the issue.
I have noticed that I am not the first person to have this issue and it dates well back to ten years? What is next? Do I need to reformat my entire machine and start fresh? Will that even help?
