Hello,
I tried to import a .gif file but i get this error, .gif file is 1.538 kb size. These are the Import settings, honestly I'm not sure of what else to send or do.
I have After Effects CC 2018.
I just moved the .mp4 file that I converted (still not working then) to my
documents folder. For some reason, it worked.

I think there is no way else you convert it to a movie. so you have to use a video converter and drag it in, and then change it to any video format. but if you want to save it as a gif again, you have to export it to media encoder and there change it to gif extension:
and scroll down to set the fps:

Did you just copy the video (and audio) stream from the source or did you convert it into some different codecs?

Here is what i did.
Locate the media files and rename them. Then you will need to re-link them in premiere. Then you should be able to run dynamic link with no problems.
