After Effects not displaying video at full resolution (iMac)

Explorer ,
May 26, 2021 May 26, 2021

Using AE for first time on iMac since most recent updates and it's completely useless. I can't view my video playback unless I'm zoomed ridiculously far in (and can't edit/control anything) or reduce resolution to Third or below. Otherwise, it will all display as black in preview. It exports just fine, file's fine (even tested on PC for comparison), it's not some insanely large file (standard 1080p). The iMac is fairly new, so I'm not understanding the issue here

Hi dbb_design,

That's not ideal. Sorry for your issue.

Could you share your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)? Also, is it happening in multiple projects?
Try disabling the Hardware Accelerated Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels from After Effects Preferences > Display.

Let us know the results.

Thanks,

Nishu
