After effects not opening due to missing plugin bundle

Community Beginner ,

Hello, my After Effects application is not opening after I uninstalled the Sapphire plugins. I uninstalled using the uninstall file and then deleted all the contents of the Boris/Sapphire package, as I did not wish to use it anymore. Now I am unable to open After Effects at all. This error keeps appearing, and whenever I click 'OK', it reappears. What can I do to solve this issue? I have paid for the application,n so why is it not working now that this plugin is gone? It was working fine before when it didn't have the plugin as well. Screenshot 2025-05-21 at 4.53.21 pm.png

That's strange!

What happens if you go to the location mentioned in the error messages? If you can, remove it and see if that helps. Also, go to HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plugins/7.0/MediaCore and remove the plug-in files.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Nishu

Hello, thank you for your reply!
The location in the error message does not exist, as I deleted the BorisFX file after uninstalling Sapphire. I am now trying what you are suggesting, but could I confirm that I delete both BorisFX and Sapphire files? I just don't want to delete something and then have another error later, so I wanted to confirm which files to delete at this stage?

To be on the safer side, you can just move these folders out of this folder and store them somewhere else. If something goes wrong, you can put them back.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Nishu
