Hi.
I am creating text reveal for about 70 comps, which involves animating text expanding around a bubble flag. As there are so many to render I tried to create templates using some of the essential graphics features to create templates to drop zones and flag zones on a template (bit like motion>FCP). Once I created a template with a certain number of agendas (1,23456 etc) , I can then use the same templates over and over again.
So I have created templates.
However, the save times are terrible with this project. It takes up to 2 minuets some times. I'm starting to regret doing it this way. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the problem with essential graphics?
I am creating a comp then adding images and icon drops to that comp so that the drop zones appear as a scroll down on the outside of it.
I probably could have created mograt files which may have been faster, but I have gone to far now in after effects and have almost finished. But becasue I am now tweaking I still have to save occationally.
Best regards
Julian

Yeah, sounds a bit crazy. You may simply be pushing the limits here and be using this stuff in a way it was never meant to be used. The problem likely is the validation and duplication of the internal redundant data structures, which you can't really avoid. No doubt the project file is also quite unusually large. At the end of the day this may be a case where rigging things natively with standard expressions in AE and just rendering out the required bits may have been more efficient.
