After effects playback freezes on one frame

This only happens sometimes when i make a comp, i cut my clips and get everything in order and then go to play it back which it does. I then move the time indicator but the same frame that i paused the video on is stuck. Then it doesnt close and i have to restart my computer. Then everytime i open the comp and play it once it constantly freezes on the frame i paused on and wont fix. Sometimes it stops doing this after i render once but its super annoying because it always happens after i have my clips in order and have already put a lot of work in. Please help this only happens sometimes but when it does its so painful lol.
