After effects preview not playing even if the preview is rendered

Hi I'm pretty new to after effects and I'm having a problem where if I play a video, the audio keeps playing but the video freezes at the starting frame until I pause the video and the preview directly shifts to the paused frame (I have attached the screen recording for reference). I have tried some methods which were on internet like purge and audio hardware settings but unfortunately nothing worked for me. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You have turned off the eye icon in the Preview panel, so naturally it's only playing the audio. You may want to read up on some basics in the help or you'll be forever confused by the smallest issues.
