After Effects Render

Hello,

Whenever I go to the render queue and click on the "Not yet specified" After Effects does not respond. I have also tried to save it like a project file so I can quit After Effects and see if maybe I just had to quit it and open it again and it would work without losing my progress, but when I tried to "Save" or "Save as" AE doesn't respond or it just doesn't work. I have looked for multiple videos but none of them seem to address the problem I have.

Are you able to output/render files using Adobe Media Render Queue?. In the After effects render queue it could be the issue of permissions to write the files to a directory. 

Try the following - 

1.  Reset preferences, follow this step:
   • Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching After Effects. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.
2. or, if you're using mac then check the permission from system preferences > privacy > file and folders.
    
3. or  Update or Reinstall the After Effects.
