After Effects saves in wrong place

After Effects seems to default to saving whatever file you are working on to whatever location you last imported an asset from. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Sorry for your issue. I haven't seen this before.

What's the exact version of After Effects you're using? Also, are you on macOS or Windows?
