I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the After Effects forum so that proper help can be offered.
Unfortunately the recording tab is hiding the info panel, which might have given us a clue. It's an odd sound though, but I'd guess that the audio is coded in a way AE cannot easily preview. Try using Media Encoder to export it uncompressed, as a WAV file for example.
