Having an issue when you create a new text layer and want to create multiple other text layers, it will disappear below the original 1st text layer and then if you move the 2nd or other text layer above the original it will parent to the 1st text layer automatically?

This clearly has to be a bug right?

Can anyone help?

That sounds completely odd. If it was me I'd try resetting the AE prefs. Ctrl / Cmd + Alt + Shift immediately on startup. Keep the keys held down until you get a 'Do you want to reset your prefs?' dialog
