After Effects update running at a glacial pace

I've used After Effects on my Mac Pro for 4 years without any issues. I could even work with the video at full resolution, with no lag or anything. I have 64 gb of RAM. Yesterday I updated to the latest version of AE, and now it's moving at a glacial pace. It takes five seconds for a minor text change to take effect. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi moshee07,

That's not ideal. Sorry for your issue.

Here are a few suggestions that you can try:

  1. Clear the media cache - https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-clean-delete-or-trash-media-cache-files-in-a...
  2. Reset preferences - https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-after-effects/td-...

Let us know if any of the suggestions help.

Thanks,

Nishu

I think it may be my project...a different project is operating normally. I wonder if it's because I imported a Premiere sequence? Would that affect it?
