This forum is as good or bad as any other, but if you don't actually explain what the problem is, nobody will seriously chime in.

Way back with we were using Afteer Effects 3 (about 1996) After Effects User Groups were fairly common. There were groups in San Francisco, LA, and Seattle that I often attended and occasionally gave presentations and demos. We had monthly meetings. By the time we got to the early CS builds, the groups had mostly disbanded because the AE forum and forums like Creative Cow had become so effective at solving problems, and we could easily meet on the internet.

Ask a detailed question or request help on a specific workflow, and you can get a lot of help here. Probably more than half of the tutorials I have posted on YouTube were a direct result of my attempts to help someone with a problem. I can't promise anything personally, but many very helpful folks here can help. Here is My Quick Tips Playlist; most of those tutorials came directly from user questions on this forum.

YouTube is filled with many tutorials posted by enthusiasts with inefficient workflows and poorly explained procedures. Make sure you vet the folks that prepare the tutorials and post links to them if you have problems. Third-Party Plug-in and script developers like VideoCopilot, Boris FX, Maxon, and AEScrsipts have good product tutorials. One of the best ways to get started with After Effects is the Learn Workspace, the Search Help field in the top right corner of AE is another good resource. The After Effects Product page and the User Guide are all excellent resources. One of the best courses you must pay for, which includes Adobe Products and many others, is Linkedin/Learning. There are quite a few others.

There's this forum.

If you're in Los Angeles, LACPUG has returned to monthly meetings at Barnsdale Art Park and just had two excellent events about artificial intelligence in visual storytelling in a row.

DMALA is winding down in-person meetings, but members still participate on Facebook.

Ukramedia is very active on Facebook.

Motion Design Artists Slack Group

As far as help with demanding tech things goes, you may want to hire someone who specializes in configuring workstations for After Effects like Puget Systems.  They have a "talk to an expert" program.  B&H Photo Video has Ask our Computer Experts.

Networking with others who create similar content is also very helpful (for example, if creating graphics for broadcast promos - chat with designers who create graphics for broadcast promos).   Trade shows like NAB and AdobeMAX are also great resources for talking to other users as well as to the vendors who make the hardware and publish the software in person.  (Unfortunately, the Media Motion Ball has its last NAB gathering just this year.)

What else?  There are groups on Reddit and Discord.  A lot of users that you find here are there as well.
