After Effects Version 18.2 2021 Composition screen not updating - blank screen

I've recently updated to the latest version of After Effects because in the previous version the "V" hotkey didn't work...
Now the viewport doesn't work.  If I load up a small template new project, the viewport will work maybe 60% of the time, but if I load a project, it works maybe 10% of the time.

I've checked my graphics card driver- it is up to date. I have an NVIDIA Quadro P4000.

Is anyone else having this issue?
Any recommendations?

Sorry for your issue.

Does it happen to all the existing projects? What happens if you import your project into a new one? Also, could you share the rest of the system specifications (CPU, RAM, OS)?

You could try clearing the media cache and see if it brings any change. Go to Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.
