Auto Trace is creating a boundary around my letter rather than a stoke line

Hi community.

Im trying to auto trace a letter, which AE does well. but when I add a 3D stroke to the letter, the reveal stroke goes around revealing the edges of the letter, rather than one stroke, and the letter can still be seen. On image 3 I have bumped the 3D stroke so it covers it up to give a better example.

So when the 3D stroke is animated, it goes around the edges of the letter rather than just revealing from top to bottom the letter. I hope all this makes sense.

OK, thank you for your answer. But I hope in the new future it can be done manually, rather than using the Pen tool.

Kind regards.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Of course this is just how it works. If you need a "spine" to reveal your letter, you have to draw it manually. This has never been any different. You simply have a misunderstanding here.
