Hi - I'm doing something very simple. I'm just using "page turn" effect to turn the page of JPEG1, to reveal JPEG 2 beneath it in a second layer.
I have no problem making the motion, but when I hit playback JPEG2 is never visible, even though there it is, sitting on the timeline. It's just black in the composition panel.
I feel like I'm missing some tiny setting somewhere (some unchecked box, or something) but I'm just not finding it.
However, if I bring in a third JPEG and make a third layer, I can see that one after the page turn.
I've been going through the beginner tutorials, etc, and I just don't see what I'm missing. How do I make it playback all the layers?
Thank you to anyone who has some simple wisdom.

I think this might just be a simple procedural thing. Try watching this. The ordering is important.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the quick response.
I'm still a little perplexed - there seems to be a luck of the draw element as to whether or not I can make it behave.
But thank you again.

Check the opacity property of the 'underneath layer'.

Thank you for the follow-up. I'm afraid i was not able to get it to work. But then the edit took a different direction and I ended up not needing this effect.
