Black screen when creating a mask from text

ver 24.0.3 (Build 2)
Windows 11

I'm following this tutorial:

When creating a mask from text, I get black screen and playback doesn't work. 

I checked if the Render tick is on — it is.

Any ideas what might it be?

The Comforter Brush font is too fancy, it generates masks with too many vertices.

Use a simpler font or shorten the text.

That's a pity. I had to draw the mask myself instead to get kind of the same effect.

You should have used Simplify Path tool in Illustrator or Penpal  extension in After Effects. 😬

There are a lot of tools to reduce the number of points in a path.

Thanks for the tips! I reduced the number of points via Penpal — still didn't help, I still see the black screen.
Could you please navigate me, how can I open the text layer via the Illustrator? I'll give it a try.

I've made a script to Create Masks from Shapes
