Blank when i open a project

I have an issue which is that every time I open a project there is no screen, it's just blank. This doesn't happen when i create a new project, only when i open one that I've created before. This means i have to finish all my projects in one sitting and cannot close them to work on them later which isn't convenient. This is a picture of what it looks like. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a MacBook and the 2019 version of after effects by the way.

Clear out the caches, check your hardware acceleration settings, try and update your system's graphics driver if one is availabel. Also start by actually zooming in and out. Your crooked zoom level may simply need a refresh.

Sorry for your issue.

Would you mind sharing your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? What happens if you go to File > Project Settings and change the renderer to "Mercury Softwere Only"? Also, could you share a sample project that repeats the issue?
