Can't set Ae 2025 as default version, keeps forcing beta to open instead

I recently updated Ae to version 25.2.

My current projects were all defaulted to automatically open with version 2024. I went into my settings (using Mac OS 14.5) and changed to 2025 as default, but when I tick the box to "change all" it forces the Beta version as the default.

How can I make the 2025 version the default? This used to work, I feel like it's an issue with this update?

Somehow I woke this morning and tried again, and now it worked. Lol.

Thanks!

You choose the project file you want to open. You right-click it to open Get Info. You find "Open with" and choose the version of After Effects.

Exactly what I'm trying to do - every time I select the 2025 version, my computer automatically changes my selection to the beta version (which isn't even in the dropdown list).
