Hi,
I am working on simple animation of earth spinning on a path. Animation works flawlessly when i put around 10 rotations for the whole path. However, for some unknown reason when i put higher values like 365 rotations, the animation gets weird. Like the program tries to rotate the object 365 times way before reaching the keyframe. Not sure if it's mistake on my side or just a bug. I am using AfterEffects 24.6 on windows 11.
You workflow makes absolutely no sense. Rotating 365 x 360 degrees over 14 seconds? What is that even supposed to look like? Of course it will at best just jump because there's more than 20 full rotations per second and at any given frame a different random position is seen. You are fundamentally misunderstanding something here. That and if course values will eventually cap off, anyway, especially with these old type effects. You may need to split the layer and start off from zero again after a

Hi thanks for reply,
Sorry you had to witness my nightmarish workflow! Goal was to animate earth's journey around the sun (which is roughly 365 days) and how time consuming it would be instead of making it in 3d. Sorry I have very little experience with aftereffects, so wanted to just explore unknown features and what are the limits. Thanks for the info tho, its helpful to know. ( ´ ▽ ` )b
