A great feature of Adobe XD is the ability to export layers/ artboards directly to After Effects (something missing from Illustrator, without third party plugins). One thing I've noticed, though, is when changing the imported comp settings in After Effects, the UI/ program freezes temporarily. Changing comp name seems ok-but changing comp timeframe (which always defaults to 60p-should be configurable in AE/ XD) or duration causes the Composition Settings window-and hence the program-to freeze/ become unresponsive for up to a minute. I've noticed this for some time-not new to current version of AE/ XD-but have suddenly become hyper aware of it as I'm using a lot of artwork from a a designer who likes to work in XD.

Just to add further to this... The length of time After Effects freeezes for seems to correlate to the complexity/ number of layers in the imported comp. A comp with two layers imported just now, for example, only froze for 2-3 seconds after changing comp settings; where as a comp with 20+ layers earlier froze for over a minute. Is there some building/ processing of the layers going on in AE after they've been imported from XD..?

This should be greatly improved in AE 24.1 which will release later in the year. The 24.1 Beta release also contains the improvement if you want to try it there.

Can you install the latest version of After Effects and see if the issue persists?
Let us know. I am moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for now.
