Hello,

Whenever I open a AE file that has footage name in Chinese, instead of displaying the correct Chinese file name, it shows weird characters instead, like the image below:

Is there a way to fix this and have AE display the correct Chinese footage name ?

This depends on what langauge AE is installed itself and what the system language is. If there's an odd combination and you are trying to open Chinese files in an English AE or whatever then it won't display the name correctly. so no, you probably can't fix that and need to rename the files. It's AE's old shortcoming of limited support for some Unicode stuff.
