Composition isn't showing up?

I'm working in after effects 2021 and my composition isn't showing up? It is just blank no matter what I click on and I'm not sure how to fix it. I know there were a lot of issues with this in 2018, but none of those solutions have helped me.

Here's a picture of my screen. It's almost like it's not loading because if I click on new composition or new composition from footage it doesn't do anything.

Go to the preferences > Display > uncheck Hardware accelerate composition, layer, & footage panels and restart after effects.

Have you tried restting the preferences of the After effects if not then give it a try as follow -

if it does not get fixed then you can try resetting the preferences, as follow:-

Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching After Effects. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.

Sorry for your issue. Please share the following details:

• What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)?
• Is your GPU driver updated?
• What happens if you go to File > Project Settings and change the renderer to "Mercury Softwere Only"?
