Convert to bezier path - doesn't show on imported EPS or AI files?

So I have these words in Illustrator EPS format, converted to outlines. I want to import these words into AE, and then convert the letters to bezier paths. But when I right click on the file, the 'Convert to bezier path' is all greyed out.

Tried bringing in AI file format, same thing.

Thoughts?

Select the EPS file on the layer. Layer > Create > Create Shapes from Vector Layer.
