Ctrl+Alt+Home doesnt work properly

It is doing something but not centering the anchor point. What should I do?

That's not ideal. What's the version of After Effects you're using? Try running After Effects in Safe Mode. If that works, resetting the preferences should help.

No, tried both resetting and safe mode and it didn't work.

Thanks for giving that a try. Do you have multiple shapes on a single Shape layer? If so, try with one shape on a layer. Also, try using it from menu instead of shortcut (right-click the layer > Transform > Center Anchor Point in Layer Content). If nothing works, let us take a look at the project file.
