since I installed version 18.4 the Ctrl C and Ctrl V commands no longer work, 
to copy the texts into After effects

It's screwed, especialyl when launching AE by clicking on a project file. Apparently it's some problem with security stuff in OSX. Start by launching AE from the dock directly instead of invoking it via project files.
