Dissolve Ripple - Center of Ripple not able to change

Participant ,

Hi,

The layer is a png photo.

I apply Dissolve Ripple effect, everything works fine. I just want to change the values of Center of Ripple in the effect control panel. However, the number values (indicating x and y position) are red colored, not blue. When I click, hold, and drag the values, they snap back and remain fixed on their particular value. I can't change it.

Any ideas on how to make it changeable?

Thank you

When I press the u Key once, the layer shows all the keyframes (which only involves transition completion), and when I press it twice, the layer hides it back. Am I highlighting the right thing?

This is a shot in the dark, but hey, it might work: try changing the layer's anchor point.

If the values are not blue you have used a preset and not applied the effect. These values are being driven by an expression.

Press the u Key twice to reveal all the modified properties of the layer you are working on, find the expression and remove it.

Dave LaRonde, changing the anchor point didn't work, thanks for the suggestion though.

Rick Gerard,

When I press the u Key once, the layer shows all the keyframes (which only involves transition completion), and when I press it twice, the layer hides it back. Am I highlighting the right thing?

I've never worked with expressions before, and don't know what they look like. As far as I understand, pressing the u Key reveals the keyframes of the transition completion, but I can't find anything about expressions.

dissolve-ripple is an animation preset. meaning it's a saved configuration of a set of parameters, maybe effects, combined together by a certain combination that often can include expression which is a javascript based code to create relationships between layer properties. in this case the center of ripple has an expression to center it in the middle

so now the parameter is driven by code. if you want to disable it you can click on the equal sign =

now you can change the parameters.
