Does anyone now how these characters were built?

For those of you with access to Envato, there are some characters that were created by Moriscopy.  They are for After Effects and they various poses and hand movements, and their mouths can move based on the wafeform of the voiceover.
I am wanting to know if anyone knows how these characters were built.  Are they just puppets or are they something different.  I would like to learn how to build something like them to use in my job.
