Drag image/video to essential graphics panel not working

I am using AE version 17.1.0. 2020, in multiple tutorials they just drag and drop an image or video to essential graphics panel in after effects and it creates a placeholder, but its not working tried each and every format of image and videos please help.

You'll need to update to use that feature. Media Replacement is new as of version 18.x (aka AE 2021).
