Effects > Chroma Key effect is labelled as >missing< right next the Chroma Key entry. Its unusable.

When i search effects panel for Chroma Key, it shows as Missing > Chroma Key. Ofcourse because of this its non draggable and unusable onto the footage. Keylight is there in the list.

Go to the Effects... menu and choose Manage Effects. You'll probably find that the effect has been disabled. Enable it and restart AE.

I tried that and it didnt even have chroma key listed in the entire list.

Also it may be worth mentioning that this version is 2024 which im using, the project i opened was from a 2022 version. When this project was opening it said the filter chroma key is missing etc. I gave as ignore and continued. Then in the effects and presets panel, it had an entry called MISSING > CHROMA KEY.

Then after i removed the missing effect from the clip that wanted it. AND IN NEW PROJECTS.....there doesnt even seem to be an effect called CHROMA KEY. Neither is it in the effects manager. So i want to know, first of all was this an obsolete effect from the previous project and Ae 2024 doesnt HAVE an effect called Chroma Key,,,,, or Is it missing only for me ?

Perhaps Chroma Key was a third-party plugin you had installed? You can use the installed Keylight effect to likely get the same effect.

Thas why im just humbly requesting. If you can maybe open your Ae > Effects & Presets panel and just see if thres a Chroma Key effect listed there, with exactly the same name Chroma Key. This will help me understand if its an issue i should even be worrying about.

Thanks for your patience. No, Chroma Key (as you mentioned above) is not a default effect.

Hope it helps. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions.

Thanks,

Nishu
