Desinstalei um plug-in de terceiros do after effects, porém o programa não abre mais, apenas mostra uma mensagem de erro e preferências, o programa inicia, mas não abre. Já reinstalei, mas nada resolvido.

Welcome to the community, Thiago.

What do you mean by "program starts but does not open"? Does it mean that you're able to open the After Effects but not any project? Do you see any error messages or crash reports?

Let us know more details. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,

Nishu

It sounds like uninstalling the third-party After Effects plug-in may have caused some corruption or conflict within the software. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check for Residual Files: Even after uninstalling the plug-in, there might be residual files or settings left behind that are causing the issue. Search for any leftover files related to the plug-in on your computer and delete them. These files might be located in directories such as the After Effects installation folder, the user preferences folder, or the common plug-ins folder.

  2. Clear After Effects Cache: Corrupted cache files can sometimes cause After Effects to malfunction. Try clearing the cache by going to "Edit" > "Purge" > "All Memory & Disk Cache."

  3. Reset Preferences: Resetting After Effects preferences can often resolve unexpected behavior. Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Option + Shift (Mac) while launching After Effects to reset preferences.

  4. Reinstall After Effects Again: Since reinstalling After Effects didn't resolve the issue initially, try uninstalling it again, making sure to remove all associated files and folders, and then reinstalling it. Sometimes, a clean reinstall can fix issues that persist after a regular reinstall.

  5. Check for Software Updates: Make sure both After Effects and your operating system are up to date. Sometimes, software updates contain bug fixes that address issues like the one you're experiencing.

  6. Contact Adobe Support: If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that the issue is more complex and may require assistance from Adobe support. You can reach out to them for further troubleshooting and guidance.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue and get After Effects working properly again.
